Dover Quartet Violist Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt made her début with the MusicaNova Orchestra playing the “Viola” concerto by Sir Edward Elgar – actually Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E Minor, Op. 85, transcribed for the viola by Lionel Tertis. Also on the program was the world premiere of “Gaslight” by MusicaNova Composition Fellow Nicholas Landrum and Tchaikovsky’s Orchestral Suite No. 2.

A World Premiere, a special guest, and more!
Arizona’s own Paradise Winds joined the Orchestra for the world premiere of Graham Cohen’s Unexpected Affinities, commissioned by the Selznick Tikkun Olam Foundation in memory of Holocaust survivors Max and Nina Gurin.Martin Goldsmith, noted author and classical music radio host on SiriusXM and NPR joined in the dedication of the work. Also on the program was Franz Schrecker’s Chamber Symphony, a work suppressed by the Nazis in the 1930s.
Rising star Katrina Jia joined the MusicaNova Orchestra to play Robert Schumann’s Konzertstück Op. 92, Introduction and Allegro Appassionato for Piano and Orchestra. Also on the program were the world premiere of Nocturne for String Orchestra by MusicaNova Composition Fellow Tengku Irfan, Sibelius’ Symphony No. 4, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s delightful Capriccio Espagnol.
